RE: Re-enchantment

Good Gossip

Q. Why would I use expensive stationery in this era of faxes and emails, especially since much of it can’t go through a printer?

A. There are many reasons: the individual and intimate quality of that kind of communication; the physicality of the beautiful paper and pen (we most definitely suggest writing with a fountain pen); the excitement of receiving a “real” letter and the importance you place on the person receiving it that it conveys; the desire to create something permanent.

Q. Can the stationery be used in laser or ink-jet printers?

A. That depends on which stationery you buy. Most social stationery is too heavy to go through a printer, but business stationery may be able to. We note in the details of each paper that we offer which may be used in a printer and which may not.

Q. Is there any danger that the paper in the lamps will come in contact with the light source, thus creating a fire hazard?

A. Unless the lamp is mishandled, there should be no danger whatsoever of this occurring. The lamps are carefully designed to provide a barrier between light source and paper.

Q. Can the lamps be dimmed for atmospheric effect?

A. Yes, the lamps are equipped with a two-phase switch.

Q. What maintenance is involved with the paper sculpture, lamps, and wall-hung paper stones?

A. Periodic dusting, preferably using light suction, should keep these in good condition.

Q. Is the jewelry very fragile? How is it maintained?

A. It is much less fragile than one might think. Keep it safely away from your other (sharp edged) jewelry in a dry, clean area, preferably wrapped in tissue paper or soft cloth. Do not leave it for any length of time where the sun may strike it (i.e. on a dresser top) as that will cause colors to fade fairly quickly. Clean it very gently with a soft, dry brush and avoid water at all costs.

Q. Can I paint the paper masks?

A. Yes. They can be primed with acrylic gesso and painted with acrylic paints. They are also lovely just left white.

Q. Is everything you offer a standard item that can be reordered?

A. Much of it is. However, since most of our jewelry are one-of-a-kind pieces, we cannot guarantee that another one that is exactly the same will be available. We do know, however, that there are very similar pieces available to the ones we are offering, and an exact replica could possibly be custom ordered. Whether that particular jewelry artist would agree would be up to him or her, but we would be happy to inquire for you. We also occasionally make one-time special purchases which we will tag as such.

Q. Do you ship outside of the United States?

A. We ship everywhere in the world. Please contact us for shipping information outside of the United States.

Q. What kind of payments do you accept?

A. We accept checks, money orders, and credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.
